Susanne Peticolas

Susanne Peticolas handles environmental litigation and toxic tort litigation. Ms. Peticolas represents clients in Superfund cases as well as in companion personal injury and property damage matters. She also represents clients in natural resource damages cases. She has extensive regulatory experience before administrative boards and agencies on air, hazardous waste, water, and noise pollution matters. Ms. Peticolas counsels clients on general regulatory compliance questions, including issues relating to RCRA, TSCA, OSHA, and reporting requirements under the New Jersey Spill Act and other environmental statutes and regulations. She regularly writes and speaks on environmental and sustainability issues. She is listed among New Jersey Super Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America for Environmental Law. Ms. Peticolas earned her B.A., cum laude, from Barnard College and her J.D., with high honors, from Rutgers University School of Law.



Russell B. Bershad

Russell Bershad is Co-Chair of the Gibbons Real Property and Environmental Department. For over 30 years his practice has concentrated on complex property acquisitions and dispositions, financing, development and redevelopment projects, including tax abatements and tax incremental financing, office, industrial retail and ground leases, and counseling with regard to real estate joint ventures. He has taught real estate financing as an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University Law School, has spoken and written extensively on real estate topics and is a contributing author to Commercial Real Estate in New Jersey, the Lease Negotiation Handbook and the New Jersey Transactions Guide. He has been selected for membership in American College of Real Estate Lawyers and has been recognized as a leading real estate lawyer by Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and New Jersey Super Lawyers. He received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and J.D. from Rutgers Law School.



Douglas J. Janacek

Douglas J. Janacek is Co-Chair of the firm’s Real Property & Environmental Department and focuses his practice on real estate development, planning, permitting, and redevelopment matters with emphasis on commercial, office, and industrial developments.
